Youth Mental Health Workshops

 Overview 

 

The Youth Mental Health Workshops are thoughtfully designed to support the psychological well-being of young individuals, especially those navigating systemic, academic, and emotional challenges. By fostering emotional awareness and resilience, the workshops aim to build safer, more expressive, and empowering environments for youth to thrive.

 

 Key Focus Areas 

 

Emotional Resilience: Helping youth recognize, process, and respond to emotions in healthy ways.

 

Stress Management: Equipping participants with practical tools to manage daily stress and academic pressure.

 

Journaling & Reflection: Promoting mental clarity and emotional expression through guided writing practices.

 

Peer Support: Creating safe spaces for sharing experiences and building solidarity among participants.

Support Circles: Facilitated group sessions to encourage openness and mutual understanding.

 Program Structure 

 

Conducted as a series of sessions typically 2 to 3 per institution or group lasting between 45 to 90 minutes each. The program design is flexible, adapting to the age group, cultural context, and specific needs of participants.

Medical Clowning

 Focus 

 

Emotional healing for hospital patients particularly children, the elderly, and those in palliative care through laughter, engagement, and compassionate human connection.

 

 Methods 

 

Trained medical clowns deliver patient-safe humor sessions using interactive storytelling, puppetry, music, and gentle, empathetic conversations. Each session is tailored to the clinical environment, ensuring emotional sensitivity and medical appropriateness.

 

 Collaborations 

 

Tata Memorial Hospital,  Intas Foundation, Sneha Sadan, old age homes, and other healthcare institutions.

 

 Reach and Impact 

 

Emotional outcomes (based on verbal feedback and medical staff reports):

 

Noticeable improvement in patient mood and a reduction in treatment-related anxiety.

 

Increased willingness among patients especially children to participate in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

 

Elderly and palliative care patients experienced moments of joy, emotional relief, and human connection, often leading to expressions of gratitude and emotional release.

Medical Check-Ups(for Vulnerable Sections)

 Target Group 

 

Elderly individuals, home-based women workers, and underserved families in low-income communities.

 

 Services Offered 

 

General health check-ups including geriatric care, gynecological support, ENT consultations, dermatology assessments, diabetes screening, and other essential services through regular health camps.

 

 Approach 

 

We actively identify and engage with vulnerable beneficiaries through community outreach and household-level screening, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility for those often left out of mainstream healthcare.

 

 Collaborations 

 

Gauhati Medical College and Hospital, Tata Memorial Hospital, ASG Eye Care, Bansara Eye Care Centre, Wintrobe Hospital, and Assam State Livelihood Mission.

Women’s Healthcare & Empowerment Programs

 Objective 

 

To empower youth and women from underserved communities with essential skills for employment, entrepreneurship, and long-term career growth.

 

 Components 

 

Skill Development Trainings:  Workshops and practical sessions in areas such as digital literacy, communication skills, resume building, interview preparation, financial literacy, and basic computer usage.

 

Entrepreneurial Support: Guidance on starting micro-enterprises, managing small businesses, and accessing local self-employment schemes.

 

Career Counselling: One-on-one and group sessions to help participants identify their strengths, explore career paths, and align their interests with vocational opportunities.

 

 Focus Groups 

 

Youth from low-income communities, college students, and home-based women seeking financial independence.

 

 Approach 

 

We partner with educational institutions, vocational training centers, and livelihood missions to ensure access to certified trainers and career support networks.
